Solid Waste Engineer Position:

The Engineer will work with a team of engineers on a wide range of solid waste projects, including landfill cell design, permitting, landfill gas system design, and construction management . He/she will prepare construction drawings, documents, specifications, reports and cost estimates. Additionally, he/she will provide permitting and project design support, as well as other related engineering consulting services, depending on practice assignment. Qualified applicants shall have at a minimum:

  • Strong interest in the solid waste practice, and environmental engineering
  • B.S. degree in an Engineering related field
  • 0-3 years experience related to solid waste, water resources, or water/wastewater engineering with experience in site development for solid waste facilities such as transfer stations, landfills, material recovery facilities a plus.
  • Engineer-in-Training Certificate or ability to obtain one within one year, depending on position
  • Moderate level of computer competency in software programs including AutoCAD, LDD, Civil 3D, hydraulic/hydrologic analysis programs, RISA 3D, etc.
  • Strong analytical skills including the capability to do open channel flow, pump system hydraulics and compressible flow calculations.
  • Effective communication skills, team player
